Stovetop No Match for Natural Spring Cleaning with IGOZEN By Customer Stories

My husband teases me all the time about being a “green freak.” He thinks this is very clever, as “green” rhymes with “clean,” and I’m fastidious about my home. A while ago, I started thinking about all the chemicals that were lurking in my house, and it really wigged me out. I realized our dishes, countertops, floors, and walls were constantly bombarded with detergents and sulfates, and my daughter was being exposed to these toxic cleaning chemicals. So I radically changed my cleaning regimen. I did a lot of research, and settled on vinegar as my go-to cleaning agent. It’s antibacterial, contains no added dyes, is toxin free and is safe to use around my family.

It also smells terrible. My daughter hates when I clean, and will retreat to her room whenever I pull out the spray bottle. “Mommy makes the kitchen smell bad.” I liked my organic cleanser, but I hated how off-putting the scent was. For months, I’ve been looking for a better solution.

I leapt at the chance to try iGOZEN. I tend to be skeptical of new products, but I was so excited by the videos I saw, and the testimonials on their website, that I rushed to buy a sample kit. And you know what? I’m really, really glad I did.

Don’t judge me too harshly.

Cleaning with iGOZEN was really easy– the microfine powder picks up a LOT of grime. At first, I had a little trouble using the microfiber cloth; it seemed to move the grime around, more than anything. So I grabbed my trusty kitchen sponge, and then it worked like a dream. My kitchen was spotless in about five minutes flat.

I got my daughter in on the act when we cleaned the living room – she loved the spray bottle, so she sprayed everything down while I followed with a rag. She’d never do that with the vinegar.

To begin, I want to say that I am a big believer of the saying, “Never judge the book by its cover”.  I would not say that I am a materialistic person but it is safe to say that in reality, looks do matter.  A poorly dressed person is viewed as lazy or sloppy.  This holds true for products as well.  In order to catch the eye of the consumer, a product’s packaging is very important.  The colors, bottle shape, etc is a marketing key.  If no thought is put into this, it will get overlooked.  With this being said, Mrs. Meyers is definitely getting overlooked.  

While the importance is how well the product gets rid of toxins in the home in order to maintain a healthy house, the product could be the best earth friendly item ever BUT if you don’t see it, and the package does not appeal, no one will know this.  In the grocery store, I had to look twice to find Mrs. Meyers first because I did not see and second, because it looked like wood cleaner to me.  The labels are all different colors but there is no pretty design or anything just the product name and a whole bunch of fluff writing. It was like someone took a page from an encyclopedia and printed it out on colored papers and glued to the bottle.  I don’t want to read the story, especially on the front of a bottle.  All I want to know is the important stuff - the ingredients. The end. 

Another minus is this line does not offer any free and clear products.  Everything is scented with their oils (very aromatherapy like).  With that, right away, I know that I will never buy this product again no matter how well it cleans because of the sensitivity people in my household have to strong smells.  Their line consists of toilet bowl cleaner, dish soap, all purpose, glass cleaner, wipes, laundry, hand and body and air fresheners.  The price starts at $3.99. Although their products are biodegradable, I still see it as a waste to make 7 different all purpose cleaners in different scents.

While the product did ok with cleaning, it still was not accommodating to everyone in the house due to scent and I really hate the packaging! The packaging itself (even if they did make free and clear) makes me not buy the product. Poorly thought out making Mrs. Meyers a C-.

When I became a mother, global environment issues became more important to me, in addition ensuring my family is fed and our home is clean and healthy.  As a result, I look for organic cleaning products as well as advise my friends to maintain an organic home so we can all lead healthy lifestyles.  My reasons are simple, and my fellow mothers tend to agree with me. I started using lemon juice instead to remove stains and clean the floors and surfaces. I didn't have to worry about causing skin irritation, and my children’s clothes look clean and smell fresh.

3.    Gentle on Pockets

People spend lots of money everyday on manufactured chemicals and their side effects.  Stay home parents tend to be exposed to a lot of TV and it's easy to be lured into buying the newest cleaning products that promise germ free homes.  Fortunately, I discovered a site that sells eco-friendly products.  My budget on cleaning items has dropped significantly since then! Similarly, hospital visits to treat my children's flu or allergies or pet visits to the vet are long forgotten.
 

Try going organic in your home, even if it's just one product at a time. You'll see a difference in more ways than one!
